FAQ of the Exit Zero Jazz Festival

Where ?
The festival is held in 7-9 different venues in Cape May, NJ. Club venues and Cape May Convention Hall are all within 4 blocks of one another along the beachfront in Cape May. Schmidtchen Theater, Festival Main Stage with a capacity of 1,177, is located ten minutes from downtown Cape May.

What does it cost?
Cost varies.
ALL WEEKEND PASSES, VIP or DUKE, provide reserved seating; tickets required for Headliner performances in Schmidtchen Theater plus priority seating in Cape May Convention Hall plus first come first served entry into all Club Venues all weekend.
SINGLE DAY PASSES provide reserved seating; tickets required to Headliner performances and general admission seating in Cape May Convention Hall plus first come first served entry into all CLUB VENUES, for the Day purchased.
HEADLINER SHOWS in Schmidtchen Theater — reserved seating; tickets required
CONVENTION HALL SHOWS require a Festival WEEKEND or SINGLE DAY PASS, or $30 at the door if room is not at capacity.
Club Pass Shows — require a Festival Pass or $20 cash at the door if club is not at capacity.

What is a Club Pass and how does it work?
The POP’s Pass, the Official Weekend Club Pass of Exit Zero Jazz is a value pass that allows multiple access to more than 30 sets of music all three days of the festival, at all Festival Club Venues on a first come-first served basis. Venues may fill to capacity prior to shows. To ensure your spot, arrive early.

What about kids, are they welcome?
Children are welcome in Schmidtchen Theater and Cape May Convention Hall. Children are welcome in Club Venues accompanied by parent until 9:00pm. Festival shows are probably not appropriate for very young children, if they are not able to sit through a concert. Students with an interest in music are welcome and urged to contact the Festival about our MUSIC CONNECTS program. Tickets are required for MUSIC CONNECTS seating and are free thanks to MUSIC CONNECTS SPONSORS, DeSatnick Real Estate, Schaeffer Family Homes, Cellular Tracking Technologies, Patricia Jackson Jewelers, Barry Corrado & Grassi P.C., South Jersey Jazz Society and Chris Cleman’s Sotheby ‘s International Realty. MUSIC CONNECTS provides free tickets to Headliner performances for age appropriate students, a free series of workshops and artist Q&A’s, and school music programs through the Lower Cape May Regional School Music Program and Cape May County schools during the festival and throughout the school year.

No Refunds or Exchanges. Once redeemed for an an Official Festival Pass, the Festival Pass is not transferable. Patrons assume all risk and danger incidental to attending Festival performances, inside and outside any and all venues whether occurring prior to, during, or after said shows. Patrons assume all risk and danger of being injured in any manner and agree that the management, its agents, venues and the performers are not responsible or liable for any injuries resulting from such causes.
Patrons consent to the use of the their image or likeness incidental to any display, transmission, or reproduction of the event. Festival staff reserve the right to refuse admission or eject any person whose conduct is deemed by the Festival to be disorderly or whom fail to comply with the the terms and conditions herein. In the event of a cancellation for which there is no rescheduled date, a refund for this ticket may be issued at the option of the Festival.

What hotels are near the festival?
Cape May is a tourist destination with many excellent options. Where do I park?
Meters in Cape May are off during the Festival. Street parking is available and free. Free parking is also available at Schmidtchen Theater.

Is there Shuttle or Trolley Service?
Free shuttle service, no ticket reuired, is provided to/from Cape May Convention Hall and Schmidtchen Theater beginning :90 minutes prior to Headliner performances and continuing until :30 minutes after Headliner performances. No shuttle service is provided within Cape May.

Can I buy advance tickets for individual performances?
Only for shows in Schmidtchen Theater and Cape May Convention Hall. Purchase Schmidtchen Theater tickets in advance online at www.exit0jazzfest.com, or by phone at 609-849-9202. Purchase Cape May Convention Hall performances in advance at exit0jazzfest.com, by phone at 609-849-9202, or at the Cape May Convention Hall Box Office, 714 Beach Avenue, Cape May, NJ 08204.

Can I purchase individual Club performances in advance?
There are no advance sales for individual club performances. Individual club performances can be purchased day of show at door to each club if space is available at a price of $20.00.

Can I take pictures at concerts?
The use of cameras (still, video, cell phones) and recording devices is strictly prohibited in Schmidtchen Theater and Cape May Convention Hall. Photography is permitted only by credentialed photographers in designated areas in Cape May Convention Hall and Schmidtchen Theater. Photography is allowed in CLUB VENUES, but please, NO FLASH out of respect for the artists and others in the audience.

What will the weather be during the festival?
Rain or shine the festival is a great experience. All venues are indoors so weather does not impact the concert schedule.

I would like to submit my band to play in your festival. What do I need to do?
In order to be considered, you must email an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) to info@exit0jazzfest.com between December 1 through December 15 of each year. Due to the extremely high volume of submissions, suggestions and requests, we are unable to acknowledge submissions via phone or email. If you submit an EPK, please do not contact the festival asking about the status of the submission. We will make contact if you or your artist/group is chosen. Thanks for your interest.

When can I pick up my Weekend Passes, Single Day Passes, Club Passes?
Exchange your Pass ticket receipt for the designated Official Exit Zero Jazz Festival Pass at the Festival Will Call Ticket Booth, located at 714 Beach Avenue, Cape May, beginning one day prior to each Festival opening day. Alternate pick-up sites and dates announced to Festival email list, and Festival web and Facebook sites.

What are the hours of operation of Festival Central Ticketing?
9am — 9pm each Thursday — Saturday of each Festival weekend.
