Prodigious bassist Charnett Moffett first appeared on record in 1974 at age seven with the Moffett Family Band (his father Charles was a drummer with Ornette Coleman’s group). He enrolled in Juilliard at age sixteen only to leave early to tour with Wynton Marsalis. Since then Charnett has appeared on over 200 recordings with such artists as Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner, Tony Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves, Arturo Sandoval, Anita Baker, Harry Connick, Jr., David Sanborn, Branford Marsalis, and Bette Midler.
